North Cyprus is the perfect holiday destination for those who wish to temporarily escape from the pressures of every day life. You can virtually feel the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step off the plane; refreshingly crime rate is practically non-existent.
It is perhaps one of the last unspoiled destinations to be found anywhere in the Mediterranean and is a country with sheer beauty and a magical, uncomplicated charm. It’s a world of dramatic mountains, intriguing antiquity and some of the most picturesque beaches to be found anywhere, from secretive safe coves to vast golden, sandy beaches. North Cyprus really does have something to offer every generation and can satisfy even the most particular traveller.

CLIMATE

North Cyprus enjoys all the benefits of the Mediterranean climate with long, arid summers with temperatures averagely 40 degrees centigrade while winters are short and mild with an average rainfall of 500 mm.

BEAUTIFUL LOCATIONS

The small horse-shoe shaped Venetian harbour in Kyrenia, also known to locals as Girne, is spell-binding and the perfect place to wile away the hours over a Turkish coffee or the traditional Turkish meze in one of the many harbour-side cafes or restaurants. The imposing 7th century Kyrenia castle with its impressive ship wreck museum offers a spectacular back drop to the harbour. Two further crusader castles are nestled in the panoramic countryside. St Hillarion Castle, alleged to be the inspiration for Walt Disney’s sleeping beauty is well worth the 2000 feet climb to the summit. The view is staggering. For the adventurous, para-gliding off the top is a quicker route, but never forgotten experience back to terra nova! The 12th century Bellapais Abbey situated in the village of Bellapais immortalised by the Lawrence Durrell’s book “Bitter Lemons” has a virtually unrivalled serenity and grace.

A PLACE OF UNTOLD NATURE

In comparison to other Mediterranean destinations there are relatively few human visitors to North Cyprus. However each summer millions of birds, some 250 species, touch down on this Island of beauty. A carpet of wild flowers grace the island in the spring of which there are thirty different types of rare orchids. The charming loggerhead turtle and its relative the green turtle can be seen nesting on some of the beaches in Kyrenia, along the remote Karpaz Peninsula and in Famagusta Bay from May onwards

HOSPITALITY

The Turkish Cypriots have a natural charisma towards welcoming visitors to their country. Guests to the Island are struck by the warmth of their welcome which makes any visitor feel like nothing is ever too much of a problem.

Northern Cyprus is a beautiful country that will charm you, embrace you and seduce you with its own very special and unique style.
